BB Catalogue wins MMAward

Recognized with Top Honors for Eleventh Consecutive Year PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 12, 2006--Black Box Corporation (NASDAQ:BBOX - News) announced today that two of its catalogs won top awards at the 21st annual Multichannel Merchant Awards. The Cable Catalog® 2005 edition won the gold award--the top honor--for highest excellence in the Computers, High-Tech Equipment and Software Print-Channel category. The 184-page catalog markets the company's extensive line of copper, fiber optic and data/video/voice structured cabling products. In addition to the esteemed gold award, the Company's 712-page UK catalog, Black Box Network Services 2005-2006, won the silver award in the International Print-Channel category. Hosted by Multichannel Merchant, formerly Catalog Age magazine, the awards ceremony was held in Chicago, IL. The awards, conferred as "tributes of excellence," mark the eleventh consecutive year that Black Box has been recognized with top honors in its category. Additionally, this year marks the seventh year that Black Box has won an award for its international catalogs. "Our goal is for our catalogs to be easy for customers to navigate and to present our products and services in an informative and interesting way," explains Julie Lyda, Director of Marketing and Sales for Black Box. "We're honored that the judges found value in both the creative approach and the execution of our catalogs." The awards are based on a point system given by a panel of judges. The judging criteria encompasses areas such as merchandising, creativity, customer service and catalog effectiveness.
